Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate
This is an excellent represenation of a Najakima Ki-84 Hayate (Allied Code Name "Frank) which was introduced in the J.A.A.F. in mid-1944 as a very high performance fighter. It was destined to become very troublesome to the Allies because the Ki-84 could out-climb and outmanoeuvre the P-51 Mustang and P-47 Thunderbolt. It was also nearly as fast. However, there were simply not enough Ki-84s, and even fewer skilled pilots available, to make any significant change in the outcome of the Pacific aerial war. Had there been, the war might have taken a different turn. This particular fighter is from the 520th Sentai, Temporary Interception Regiment for Home Island Defense, Japan 1945, and flown by Noboru Naito.
Features :
Sliding canopy - activated by using F (when the flap is fully deflected)
Landing light with beam (activated by L), Blinking strobe lights (need to assign a key in the keyboard assignment section, I used (shift+s for mine). User paintable gunsight (you can use the one in the TEXTURE subdirectory, GUNSIGHT64.BMP)
All art work are painted by Robert Reichert (http://robin100.fm.interia.pl/cfs2.html). The 3D interior cockpit BMP file is modified from the stock CFS aircraft. The spinning propeller BMP file is painted by Dave Eckert at www.daviator.com.
In order to use the 3D pilot and the weapons, you need to download the RAF pilot (Spitpak) and bombs (WEP) from "Martin Wright" at http://www.fly.to/mwgfx/
Special thanks to Harald Geier at HGHB (http://fly.to/HGHB) for allowing me to repaint their airspeed gauge to display it in Japanese, and to distribute it with the aircraft. Special thanks to Stefan Schroeder for the TCDFSVIEW (http://www.tcdsoft.de/tcdfsview.html).
